Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds 20250502

I’ve seen NIck Cave and the Bad Seeds more than 10 times over the years. Easily. Last night was date night with my girl and it was somehow the best Bad Seeds show I’ve seen (and last time I saw him in Pittsburgh I ended up standing on stage next to him singing). It was down to the emotion of the show. He dedicated “O Children” to the children we somehow “cannot protect” and I was wrecked. That was the third song. The new album material speaks to the moment and “Final Rescue Attempt” was presented in place of pride at the peak of the set. Yeah he did the songs you expect but somehow I was really leaning into the new stuff. The highlight of the night though was a breathtaking version of The Boys Next Door’s “Shivers” which was an amazing surprise. Warren Ellis was sick but really pushed through and delivered a hell of a performance. Some of these photos are Kaylin’s and some are mine. I guess our marriage means we share gig pics. You’ll find us in the final pic. As ever, sorry about my face.
